Touring Superleggera supercar sizzles at Savile Row

The UK and Italy share a history and love for bespoke craftsmanship, and both were recently on show in central London at the heart of the UK’s tailoring world. Concours on Savile Row and Cad & The Dandy played host to Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera, with the stunning Arese RH95 Grigio Artico lined up on the street itself, and a glorious car from the coachbuilder’s illustrious history, a freshly restored 1954 Alfa Romeo 1900 Super Sprint Coupé, displayed inside the tailor itself.

“Since our inception in 1926, we’ve been synonymous with innovation and craftsmanship, crafting vehicles that transcend mere transportation to become works of art. Among our portfolio of automotive marvels stand iconic designs like the Maserati 3500 GT, Aston Martin DB5 and Berlinetta Lusso,” said Touring Superleggera CEO Markus Tellenbach. “The Berlinetta Lusso, in particular, embodies the essence of Touring Superleggera’s vision — a poetic fusion of form and function, a masterpiece in motion. Its presence amidst our heritage serves as a testament to our commitment to creating automotive poetry.”

The Arese RH95 Grigio Artico drew plenty of attention at the concours. A limited production of six vehicles, it’s powered by a mid-mounted 670bhp V8 and exemplifies the essence of the Touring Superleggera ethos. “With its captivating blend of Grigio Artico and Verde Vipera, this vehicle exemplifies our legacy of exceptional design and coachbuilt mastery,” Markus said.

During the event, Markus took to the event’s main stage to discuss the car as a reflection of Touring Superleggera’s artistry, extending his vision for the brand’s upcoming centenary anniversary and inviting the audience to follow Touring Superleggera’s journey. He also explained the concept of ‘Touring Magic’, highlighting how it shapes customer relationships and influences design, as well as provided insights into how Touring Superleggera competes with larger luxury automotive brands by maintaining bespoke design excellence.

During the main-stage talks, Touring Superleggera’s head of design, Matteo Gentile, elaborated on the blend of interior and exterior design that defines the brand’s creations, and engaged with aspiring young automotive designers, offering inspiration and insights into the world of high-end car design.

Inside host tailor Cad & The Dandy, showgoers could take in the delights of the freshly restored Alfa Romeo 1900, an award winner at the 2022 Chantilly Concours d’Elegance. Under the store lights, it showcased Touring Superleggera’s premier restoration services, combining stylish interior and exterior design, and giving guests a taste of the brand’s exceptional craftsmanship.

Reflecting on the event, Markus said: “We are thrilled with the response to the Arese RH95 at this year’s Concours on Savile Row. The event provided the perfect platform to showcase our commitment to blending heritage with modernity, and we look forward to continuing to push the boundaries of automotive design.”

Hinting at greater things to come, he added: “We believe a collaboration with Cad & The Dandy, an excellent tailor, fits nicely with our plans to create a new car – which will be revealed at this year’s Quail, A Motorsports Gathering.”
