British sports car brand Lotus set for electrifying Savile Row bespoke show

Lotus cars is teaming up with Clothsurgeon to showcase the future of performance motoring. The all-electric Evija hypercar and Emeya super-GT will be lined up in the heart of London at the Concours on Savile Row, which takes place on Wednesday May 22 and Thursday May 23, 2024.

The Emeya, pictured above, is the first electric hyper-GT from Lotus, offering true supercar performance in a desirable and practical package. The car certainly lives up to the fine traditions of Lotus performance, with up to 905bhp available (depending on trim level), and a 0-60mph time of around 2.8 seconds. As you’d expect with Lotus, the chassis is a masterclass, featuring all-wheel drive, advanced active roll control and rear-wheel steering.

This driver-focused design is exemplified by the use of advanced aerodynamics, such as an air dam under the front bumper and an active rear spoiler, increasing downforce for true sports car-style direction changes. It cleaves the air with a low drag co-efficient of 0.21Cd, yet through different settings, such as Range, Tour, Sport, Individual and Track, the driver can alter just how much downforce they want; it can produce 150kg of downforce at 155mph. Lightweight carbon-ceramic brakes reduce weight and braking distance, and the twin-layer battery design’s cooling features allow for greater repeatability and sustainability of performance, even when on a circuit. It also provides increased driving range between charges.

However, the Emeya is practical, too, with electronically controlled air suspension that provides an optimum balance of ride comfort and cornering precision. The boot space offers 509 litres for those long trips away, while passengers can enjoy ambient lighting, five seat-massage modes and an intelligent panoramic glass roof that can switch between opaque and clear. When using a 350kW DC fast-charger, the Emeya can achieve a 10-80 percent charge within 18 minutes, with a maximum range of 379 miles.

The Evija, pictured above, is what Lotus perceives to be the next generation of automotive performance. It’s an all-electric hypercar that’s sculpted to create organic beauty to match its high-speed credentials. The numbers are simply staggering: the 1500kw of power equates to more than 2000bhp, with 1704Nm of torque available. This means that the Evija can sprint to 186mph in 9.1 seconds, although it can also cover 215 miles of range. It can accelerate past 60mph in less than three seconds, thanks to its 93kWh battery pack developed in partnership with Williams Advanced Engineering. It features Integral Powertrain-supplied motors at each wheel, all operated independently.

The magnesium wheels wear Pirelli Trofeo R tyres for extra lightness, while AP Racing carbon-ceramic disc brakes provide eye-popping stopping power. Just 130 Evijas will be built, each one tailored to the customer’s taste with a range of liveries available that pay homage to Lotus’s proud history in motor sport.

Lotus team members will be on hand across the two days at Concours on Savile Row to discuss the two cars, while Lotus Chapman Bespoke will provide customers with the opportunity to customise their Lotus products, from custom badges and trims to complete one-off personalisation of an entire vehicle. Three levels of personalisation are available: Tailor-made, in which you can choose your own unique combination from within a broad palate of colours and designs, and finish it with exclusive personal touches and details; Collection, in which you can choose from a selection of limited-edition designs, bought to life in conjunction with partners, artists and like-minded luxury brands; and One-off, which allows you to build a car as unique as you are.
