Hagerty is proud to continue its partnership with Concours on Savile Row (London, May 22-23, 2024), collaborating with Huntsman bespoke tailor to present a unique insight into a rock ‘n’ roll legend at this year’s event.

Huntsman has an enviable history stretching back more than 170 years, attracting notable clients including the likes of Coco Chanel and David Bowie with its beautiful tailoring. Exclusively at the 2024 concours, alongside Hagerty, it will celebrate another legendary Huntsman client – the late Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts.

Working with the generous cooperation of the Watts family, Hagerty and Huntsman presents a never-seen-before exhibition of wonderful pieces from Charlie’s private collection. This stunning display will include pieces of his personal Huntsman tailoring, along with some of his own treasures including his beautiful 1937 Lagonda LG6 Rapide.

The LG6 Rapide is among the rarest and most coveted of British pre-war cars. Engineered using DNA from the 1935 Le Mans 24 Hours-winning Lagonda M45R, the model was one of very few machines able to exceed 100mph prior to World War Two. A mere six examples of the LG6 Rapide were built, before the outbreak of war halted production in 1939. In addition to its world-beating performance, its classically sporting proportions and exquisite Art Deco flourishes have made the LG6 Rapide among the ultimate connoisseur’s cars.

Not seen in public over the past five decades, this beautifully preserved 1937 Lagonda LG6 Rapide was the pride of Charlie Watts’ private collection. While never learning to drive, he revelled in its design and historical importance, and enjoyed being driven in it during his highly savoured down-time from touring with the Rolling Stones. With the kind permission of the Watts family, Charlie’s Lagonda will make what is thought to be its concours debut at Concours on Savile Row 2024.

In addition, a respectfully personal discussion about the life of Charlie will take place in the Huntsman lounge during the event. It will be hosted by renowned automotive expert Simon Taylor, along with Dario Carnera from Huntsman and Paul Sexton, author of the official Charlie Watts biography.
