2021 Aston Martin Speedster
Owner: Private owner Hosted by: JP Hackett
The luxury British sports car marque plans to build a total of only 88 examples of its puristic, limited-edition V12 Speedster. Created by the bespoke customisation service Q by Aston Martin, the uncompromising, visceral two-seater draws inspiration from both the brand’s rich racing history and aeronautical design.
It is billed as a “living show car”, underlining Aston’s commitment to delivering stunning driver’s machines using the engineering ingenuity and advanced materials evident throughout the marque’s entire range.
Power comes from a 5.2-litre, twin-turbo V12, mated to a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission. The latest bonded-aluminium architecture is utilised to create a unique chassis, while the bespoke body is constructed almost entirely from carbonfibre. The interior specification pushes new boundaries, using a mix of traditional and modern materials.
Conceptual specifications include one inspired by the legendary F/A-18 fighter jet, born from a collaboration with Boeing and finished in Skyfall Silver with contrasting satin black on the exhaust tips, vent grilles and vanes. An historic DBR1 optional spec is also available, with meticulously crafted details that pay homage to the 1959 Le Mans-winning original. www.astonmartin.com
