Austin Pedal Cars collaborates with Holland & Sherry for unique J40 Continuation

Austin Pedal Cars has collaborated with renowned Savile Row clothmaker Holland & Sherry to create an exclusive Austin J40 Continuation pedal car built especially for the 2024 Concours on Savile Row event (May 22-23, 2024).

Since 1836, Holland & Sherry has supplied bespoke tailors, haute couture designers and global luxury brands with some of the finest cloths in the world. Stephen George Holland and Frederick Sherry began the business as woollen merchants at 10 Old Bond Street, London, and the business moved to Savile Row in 1982.

This exclusive Holland & Sherry Austin J40 Continuation brings together two iconic brands, both rooted in British history, to create the ultimate combination of automotive design and Savile Row style.

While the first impression may be one of familiarity, the Austin Pedal Cars J40 Continuation is a brand-new model that presents a modern take on the classic J40 pedal car. With a hand-formed aluminium body and a beautifully designed, lightweight pedal system, the J40 Continuation is as good to ‘drive’ as it is to look at.

The bespoke interior of the Holland & Sherry Austin J40 Continuation is finished in the finest Holland & Sherry cloth, and features a sumptuous, individually designed and tailored seat which is perfectly complemented by a handbrake gaiter trimmed to match. Furthermore, the cloth, chosen to match the car’s stunning turquoise paintwork, has also been used in a range of unique accessories including a fine leather satchel and tool-roll.

While this unique J40 Continuation has been designed and built to be used as a child’s pedal car, there is no doubt that it would enhance any private automotive collection, and it also lends itself to be used a stunning piece of interior decorative art.

This exclusive Savile Row collaboration launches a bespoke design programme for the Austin Pedal Cars J40 Continuation, which allows owners the opportunity to order a new Austin J40 built to their own specification. Clients may choose from an almost unlimited colour palette, can specify custom elements to the car and will have a wide range of interior finishes, including a range of Holland & Sherry cloths, to choose from.

Mark Burnett, managing director of Austin Pedal Cars, said: “To collaborate with a bespoke Savile Row brand such as Holland & Sherry is a real honour for Austin Pedal Cars. The wonderful J40 Continuation we have created combines the best in British style and design, and is a car that would be the perfect addition to any automotive collection, or could even be displayed as a piece of automotive art. This special car also launches our bespoke J40 Continuation programme, allowing owners to build their own, very personal Austin J40. We look forward to showing the car at Concours on Savile Row this week. “

Lindsay Taylor of Holland & Sherry added: “Holland & Sherry is delighted to be a part of the 2024 Savile Row Concours, an event that attracts a wider audience to a unique street that offers the very best of fine English tailoring.”
