Alpine partners with Crémieux to bring A110 Pikes Peak hero to London’s Concours on Savile Row

Alpine is teaming up with tailor Crémieux to bring 2023’s amazing A110 Pikes Peak Hill Climb record-breaker to the centre of London. The car will make its UK debut at Concours on Savile Row, held on May 22-23, 2024.

A 19.93km charge through treacherous Rocky Mountain terrain, the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is one of the longest-running motor-racing events in the US. With 156 turns, and climbing from an altitude of 2865 metres to 4301 metres, it is a stern task for man and machine. One made even sterner when the idea to take part was approved less than six months before the event…

On only the team’s first attempt at the hill climb, it finished second in class in the Pikes Peak Open category, breaking the class record along the way with a time of 9:17.412 with Raphaël Astier behind the wheel. Raphaël is no stranger to Alpine, having won the FIA R-GT Cup with the A110 Rally. However, the basis for the Pikes Peak car would be somewhat different to his championship mount.

The Pikes Peak A110 uses the A110 GT4 Evo racing car as a base, but downforce has been further increased thanks to the use of pronounced splitters on the front and deflectors on the edge of the bumper, plus an air intake for the engine. The car’s diffuser comes from the A110 R. The 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine packs a mighty 500bhp, marshalled through a six-speed sequential gearbox. The dampers are three-way adjustable units from ALP Racing, while Brembo calipers are used front and rear. In all, the car weighs a mere 950kg.

The Alpine A110 Pikes Peak is making its UK debut at Concours on Savile Row, and will be hosted by Crémieux, a family-owned luxury menswear company, founded in Saint-Tropez, France in 1976. Designer and CEO Stéphane Crémieux, the second generation of the family, wanted to establish a beautiful store all about hospitality and products, so that customers can feel at home in each of its locations. He is happy to welcome Alpine to his London store.

“To partner with Alpine for Concours on Savile Row reminds me of when I was ten years old, and watching the races with these blue French race cars all over France,” he says. “It is a good feeling to see that a long-time brand remains relevant and modern, with a mix of heritage and technology. In fact, it is a bit like our family brand story.”

Stéphane is a long-term fan of Concours on Savile Row, and has prepared something very special for it. “We are always doing special editions for events, such as special selections of suits and sports coats,” he says. “We have also introduced a new shirt assortment that’s very ‘Riviera’ for this event.”
